La Gracia Village, Belize

The students at La Gracia Government School in La Gracia Village, Belize were very interested in the Evangecube witnessing tool.  The Evangecube makes it so easy to tell the story about Jesus' crucifixion, how sin separates us from God and what it means to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.  This day, our mission team went door to door in the village.  Team members prayed with many families in this village and gave Bibles and clothing at each village home.

Hearts of Christ working Orange and White Game

Hey, Hey, Hey!  Our first game of the year; Orange and White Game at the University of Tennessee Neyland Stadium.  Hearts of Christ Children's Ministry volunteers worked concessions for the game; 10% of all sales goes to Hearts of Christ for local and international missions.  We need volunteers for all UT home games this fall; if you live in the Knoxville/Morristown or surrounding areas and would like to volunteer, give Carla a call at 423-312-4466. 

Missionary Retreat in Belize City

Pure Joy International is now in Belize City!  Carla Jennings met Vickie, Pure Joy, last year during a Mission Expo in Alabama.  Vickie has travelled the world and was interested in holding a ladies missionary conference/retreat in Belize.  Alicia Williams, Hearts of Christ coordinator, helped Vickie with logistics of information from Belize.  The retreat began today and missionary women from many areas in Belize are in attendance.  The Princess Hotel in Belize City was chosen and the ladies are being lavished and refreshed for four days!  Thank you Pure Joy International for your service in Belize!  Photo:  Alicia on left; Vickie on right.

Photos and Letters to Your Sponsored Child

I got a photo and letter from my sponsor!!  You can send a photo or letter to your sponsored child any time during the year.  Mail to:  Hearts of Christ, P.O. Box 114, Belmopan City, Belize, Central America (don't abbreviate anything).  Check with your local post office on postage rate; usually around $1.  The kids love getting mail; especially photos of you, your children, your pets, snow days...   Send your child a letter today! 

Kids Mission Day at Russellville Baptist Church

Hearts of Christ Children's Ministry was invited to the Russellville Baptist Kids Mission Day.  Carolyn Harville and Carla Jennings set up a Belize display table and told the students about the local and international missions of Hearts of Christ.  Students asked many questions about the culture of Belize and were very interested in some of the Hearts of Christ medical missions in Belize.  As we shared Catatrina's medical story with them, one child lead a prayer on the spot for Catarina and her family.  Catarina had an enormous cancerous facial tumor and was brought to Knoxville for surgery and chemo treatments.  After 8 months of medical care, she is now back with her family in Belize. 

Mens Bible Study

Thursdays at Justin's Restaurant, Morristown TN.  First Baptist Church hosts a Mens Bible Study every Thursday morning.  Pastor Dean Haun delivers a wonderful message each week.  The buffet breakfast hosted by Hearts of Christ Children's Ministry begins at 6:30am and the Bible study begins at 7am until 7:45am.  This week Pastor Ray from the Bikers Church in Morristown shared the message.  Come and join us.  Great fellowship, great message, great music, great food and lots of fun.

Graduation May 2013 in Belize

Hearts of Christ Children's Ministry has 30 sponsored students graduating from high school next month!  Some of you have sponsored these students for many years and now their hopes and dreams are a reality.  We lift these students up in prayer as they begin a new season in their lives.  They have heard the good news of Jesus Christ and many of them have accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior!  Praise be to God for what He has done and how He has used you and Hearts of Christ to shine "The Light" in a third world country.  Below are graduation photos of previous graduations.

2013 Christmas Shipment to Belize

The time is fast approaching to get those Christmas packages ready for your sponsored children in Belize.  If you choose to send a package this year, here are the drop off dates:  August 31st, September 7th and September 14th from 10am - 2pm at Justin's Restaurant in Morristown.  Sponsors that live out of state have 2 options:  (1) mail your package to us by September 14th or (2) send your money and our shoppers will shop for you and complete your package.  You can pack one 3 gallon plastic bag for your child.  Watch your mailbox for the Hearts of Christ 1st quarter newsletter which will have details for your package preparation and requirements.  Blessings!
