Two Teams Come Together to Impact Belize

This year's Women's Bible Conference group teamed up with Access Life at Hearts of Christ Children's Ministry in Roaring Creek Village, Belize!  This combined team of 21 members set the ground ablaze as they prepared to minister to the people of Belize.

Access Life and their amazing supporters shipped wheelchairs, power chairs, canes, walkers, crutches, strollers, diapers and lots of medical supplies to equip them to serve so many disabled people in need.  One man returned to his office job after being blessed with a power chair.  He is now able to get to his office and has the mobility to perform his duties.  Praise and all glory to God as women came carrying in their disabled children and left with them sitting in a perfectly fitted wheelchair or stroller!

The guests were registered and then they came thru a line of people cheering and clapping.  Their smiles were so heartwarming as they knew this was their day!!  Kings and Queens for the day!!

There was face painting, nail painting, archery, water color painting, prayer and care, photo frame making, horseback riding...

While taking a break, the guests were served a hot lunch.

Thank you Access Life for sharing so many blessings with the people of Belize.  The children and adults that received chairs, strollers, crutches... will never forget the day they met you at Hearts of Christ Children's Ministry in Roaring Creek Village, Belize!

LOCAL MINISTRY TO CHILDREN IN TENNESSEE

This group served with Hearts of Christ Children's Ministry in delivering over 90 Christmas packages to children in the local school system.  Principals and teachers are in touch with the local coordinator for the ministry year round.  Children are always in need of shoes, warm coats, clothing and other things that their parents or caretakers cannot provide for them.  The Christmas outreach includes toys and other surprises for the children along with items to take care of their clothing needs.  Donations from Hearts of Christ supporters makes this outreach possible.  We thank you for your prayers, support and dedication to the ministry.

As each child comes to receive their Christmas gift, they are told the Christmas story and given a Bible to take home.  It's amazing how many children don't know the Greatest Story Ever Told; the story of our Savior and how He came to save us.  Join us in prayer everyday for these children!

Adding On!! Mens Team December 2014

The Zavels boys were hard at work adding a bedroom on to this village home in Cottontree Village, Belize.  Along with their dad and other team members they gave this family an addition that was so needed!  The family of 15 was so blessed!  The children of the family were so excited to see the men coming and were there to help out everyday.

The men's team serves in Belize with Hearts of Christ Children's Ministry every year in December or January.  They have a passion for repairing and building homes for the struggling families in Belize.  They can use some help; join them next year for another wonderful time of service and discipleship!

The Christmas Shipment has Arrived in Belize!

The Christmas packages are here, sorted and ready for the children to arrive on Saturday!  It is going to be such an exciting day; wish everyone could be here to share in the joy and excitement.  This will probably be the only Christmas gift most of these kids will receive so we thank everyone that took the time to send a gift!

Michael; Belize Police Officer

Today Michael came up to the Hearts of Christ mission site in Roaring Creek Village, Belize to pickup a Christmas package from his sponsor.  Michael has been sponsored by this family since he was about 8 years old.  Michael graduated from high school and went on to graduate from the Belize police academy.  Today, he was all smiles as he told us about his new profession and how it has affected his life.  We thank God for placing sponsors in the lives of these Belizean children; it is making a difference!  We not only have the opportunity to provide them with a quality education but also to talk to them and teach them about the good Lord!

PRAYER VIGIL TONIGHT!

Tonight many village ladies and youth have gathered at the Hearts of Christ Children's Ministry mission site for an all night prayer vigil!  I know these lovely people will be praying for this ministry as they sing, praise, pray and fellowship.  So dedicated and devoted to the one they love, Jesus Christ, the one and only.  The Hearts of Christ on site coordinator, Alicia, and her mother, Juanita, will be in the midst of this group tonight.  Thank you ladies and young students for your service and prayers!

JULY 2014 MISSION TEAM

We had a great trip with 19 team members serving with Hearts of Christ Children's Ministry on the school sponsorship program.  The team helped to register over 700 sponsored students from 52 government schools in Belize, Central America.  The week was filled with reviewing the students report cards, presenting awards to students with high averages and perfect attendance, taking their booklists for ordering books for September, taking photos for their sponsors, helping the students write letters to their sponsors, distributing new school uniforms, sizing the students for shoes and clothing, sharing Christ as each student came through discipleship and distributing shoes and food in various villages.  Team members sponsored children that were on the Hearts of Christ waiting list; children that desperately need financial help to attend school; what a blessing to the children and their families.

JANUARY 2014 MEN'S CONSTRUCTION TEAM

Busy! Busy! Busy!  A team of 10 men from Tennessee served with Hearts of Christ Children's Ministry in Belize this month.  They had learned that one of the remote Government schools was going to tear down the children's playground because the school could not afford the badly needed repairs.  The men's team visited the school and completed the needed repairs so the children can again use their playground.

This village family has lived on a Hearts of Christ property for about 2 years.  They were living in a generator room while the father worked as night watchman for a property owner in Belize.  The husband and wife have 12 children.  The men worked on the house last year and went back this year and added a new bedroom on the house.  I can only imagine the joy in getting a little more space in the tiny home.  All the school age children are sponsored through Hearts of Christ and this has been a huge blessing to the family too.

The men made some improvements to the Hearts of Christ mission house in Roaring Creek Village by enclosing some of the storage areas.  So thankful!

"The Christmas Mission"

I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since we posted on the blog.  It has been a very busy time, as you know....!  We just got back from Belize a few weeks ago and it was a whirlwind down there; over 400 children came to receive their Christmas gifts from their sponsors.  It was such a wonderful time of thanksgiving and praise.  As soon as we hit American soil, the rush began to prepare for the local mission project in our local school system.  "The Christmas Mission" blesses many many children in Hamblen and surrounding counties.  As teachers and principals contact our local coordinator; she prepares to shop, pack and prepare for the delivery of their Christmas gifts.  The teachers and principals are constantly aware of the needs of our local children and Hearts of Christ Children's Ministry has been involved with these contacts for several years.  Children coming to school without warm clothing, no winter coat, holes in their shoes...  this is a need that Hearts of Christ is so involved in.

On Tuesday, our local coordinator and 7 volunteers will be visiting several local schools in Hamblen County and delivering "The Christmas Mission" to these children in need.  We send out many thanks to all the people that have so graciously given so these kids can have Christmas; thanks to all the volunteers and bless our coordinator as she continues her service throughout the year for children in need.  January through December, she is on call to help meet the needs of our local children.  Hearts of Christ Children's Ministry; blessed again to serve another year in the Kingdom.  May all we say and do be for God's Glory!
